For stay at home moms, money can get tight, or they may want an outlet. Many of my friends and neighbors have figured out how to earn some extra money by getting into direct sales. I think it started with Tupperware or Mary Kay decades ago. Now it's everything & anything: shakes, face serums & lotions, oils, time shares, purses, weight loss aids, cookware, children's books...the list is endless. I've even done this before. Past tense. It's not my calling.
Direct sales is usually based on who you know; who you can get on board your team; then who they know & who they can get on the team or sell product to as well. There are up sale managers, and all kinds of different levels to strive for. Friends of mine that do this successfully, are close with their team members. They talk often & rely on each other to help the business. They are successful at what they are doing because of a few things. Determination to please the customer. Belief in their product. The thrill of making the sale. And the bottom line...a paycheck. (I know, there are more reasons than those four, but this is supposed to be a short blog post).
I think you know where I am going with this. What if we treated Jesus like our product? I don't mean to cheapen our Lord & Savior, I'm trying to make a point, stay with me. I don't think we should "sell" Jesus to people either, that can be a turn off. What I am trying to relay is the passion. The passion that you have about what ever product you are selling. The passion you have about what ever you love to do as a hobby. The passion you have on the weekends for something. (Boating, biking, running, baking, cooking, painting, sewing gardening,...) Just think about all the time we devote to all those things. Then compare it to the time we devote to Jesus. The time we devote to making disciples. The time we devote to producing fruit. The time we devote to prayer or worship.
Lets build a team under our Lord. Jesus is the up sale manager. We will call Him for anything & everything. He is the only one with the answers. Then we need people. People to learn about our product (Jesus). How will you get that message out? Next we will need team members to go and do the same thing. What does your team look like? Do you believe in your product?
Trust me; this product will pay much more than anything you could ever imagine.
Matthew 28:19- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
