Righteous & Sanctification-by Sara Howard

After several years of doing different Bible studies, I feel like I have learned a few things. I know, a vocabulary lesson is not always fun. But...it is helpful. Especially when you hear certain words or phrases that are "over used" & "abused".  It's not a long list, just two words, you can handle it.

Righteous- Does not mean to be pure or good, but rather to be in harmony; in right relationship with God and with neighbor. Death of self. "He must become greater; I must become less."  -John 3:30

Sanctification- The change God makes in our lives as we grow in the faith (Romans 6:1-8:39). Believers enter into this state when they are born of God (1 Corinth. 1:30). The act or process of becoming holy; progressive holiness in a believers life.

There! That wasn't so bad. As you grow in your faith, and trust our Creator more & more, you will live out these words more easily. You will shed your old self, the lies, the shame, the guilt. You will also find that you may lose some friends. But you will gain so much more. You will gather others around you as you give yourself away to Him.

"The righteous will live by faith." - Romans 1:17

Beautifully put, Sara and Brandi---the vocab lesson of those two words helped me understand what we are striving for, Sara! And Brandi--loved what you wrote, as well. It is great to come into a place every week where we can just be ourselves and learn from each other.
