Have you heard the expression, "God doesn't call the equipped, he equips the called?" Well, in my case, it's a very true statement.
Four years ago I felt led to lead a bible study. At first, I was like, "Who me God?!" And He said, "Yep."
I had attended many bible studies at my church for a few years, they were all offered in the evening. In the evening; my busiest time of the day. The time of day when homework is getting finished up, kids are chatting around you, dinner needs to be cooked & cleaned up, kids need baths...you get the point. What was also tricky was my husbands work hours. Sometimes he couldn't be home to be with the kids. Sooooo...I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to start a morning study. So I did. That first Tuesday morning we had 5 ladies attend, and we began the first study with "Mocha on the Mount" by Sandra Glahn.
Fast forward about 4 years; over 70 ladies have participated to date! Not to mention we now meet two days a week & have quadrupled meeting times. All because the Holy Spirit led this, and I responded with, "Yes Lord."
I am not a Biblical scholar by any stretch of the imagination. I often remind the ladies that I am not their teacher, I am the facilitator of the studies. I am learning right beside them, & from them. Following & trusting in Him is thee best thing I have ever done.
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will." -Romans 12:2
